The grand celebratory installation marking the 60th anniversary of Marmomac.
More than an exhibition, PANTHEON is an immersive architectural landscape dedicated to stone as a cultural, identity-shaping and design-driven expression of our time.
The installation takes shape through fifteen monumental columns, each composed of four different stone slab materials, for a total of sixty surfaces sourced from around the world: a direct tribute to the sixty years of the exhibition and to the extraordinary expressive richness of contemporary natural stone.
Arranged as a large contemporary ritual space, the columns form a walk-through and scenographic environment in which textures, colours, reflections and material depth engage in continuous dialogue. Each element becomes part of a collective composition that transforms stone from a simple construction material into an architectural and narrative language.
The name PANTHEON evokes monumentality, permanence, and the relationship between light, space and matter. It is an evocative reference that interprets stone as an original element of architecture and a symbol of cultural continuity between memory and future.
Within the Exhibition and Experimentation Pavilion, PANTHEON becomes the focal point of the THE BEDROCK experience: a central space for encounter, exchange and movement, conceived to stage the international dimension of Marmomac through the plurality of contemporary stone surfaces.
The composition highlights the uniqueness of each material, bringing into dialogue different aesthetic qualities, geological origins and production identities. Compact and tactile surfaces interact with translucent materials, deep structures, mineral veining and contemporary finishes, offering a transversal reading of the expressive potential of natural stone in architecture and design.
PANTHEON also represents a reflection on the very concept of trade fair exhibition: no longer a simple sequence of products, but an immersive spatial experience, a cultural installation and a narrative device capable of creating connections between industry, design and research.
