Almost everyone has, at least once, tested the delicate balance of a game of pick-up sticks (Shangai): a seemingly random arrangement of sticks from which a single piece must be removed without disturbing the harmony of the whole.
From that suspended moment comes NonciKado, an armchair designed jointly by Gipi Soft and Pelletti & Simonetti. An object that appears to challenge the very nature of its material: suspended, self-supporting and essential.
Marble from the Ortensia Quarry, supplied by Marmo Canaloni, is transformed into a contemporary gesture, becoming visually lighter until it embodies balance, tension and movement. In NonciKado, the solidity of marble meets the delicacy of perception. Each element interacts with the others in a composition that evokes playfulness while celebrating precision, patience and the craftsmanship required to bring it to life.
The project is a tribute to the excellence of Italian craftsmanship and to the expertise rooted in the Carrara region—a unique cultural and manufacturing heritage where art, design and stone have coexisted for centuries. With its quarries, the Academy of Fine Arts, artists' workshops and long-standing manufacturing tradition, Carrara continues to represent a place where marble is not merely a material, but a language.
NonciKado is born from this vision: transforming stone into emotion, balance and a contemporary expression of identity.

Gipi Soft's roots lie in the textile industry, particularly in the production of upholstered furniture and soft furnishings. From the very beginning, however, the company's vision extended far beyond its origins.
