Inspired by the spine of a mythical creature, this installation is designed to adapt to a variety of settings. Flowing through elegant, sinuous curves, it invites visitors to choose their own place and sit in good company.
The installation consists of two sets of nine seats carved from white marble, conceived for public spaces, gardens, residential developments, hotels, private gardens, swimming pools and parks.
The entire work was produced from a single block of white marble extracted from the Lorano quarry in Carrara and supplied by BLC Carrara. The original block weighed approximately five tonnes and measured 130 × 198 × 60 cm.
The complete series was cut at the Artco Studio workshop using Bidese Impianti's Top Wire CNC diamond wire cutting machine, with no additional finishing required and generating no material waste.

Biografia
Nato nel 1952 in Francia, Nicolas Bertoux ha cominciato la sua carriera come architetto d’interni prima di dedicarsi totalmente alla scultura. Il suo principale obiettivo è quello di integrare le sue opere nell’ambiente, ispirandosi allo spazio, la cultura, la storia e la natura del luogo. Le sue opere monumentali si trovano in Francia presso il Parlamento Europeo di Strasburgo o nel centro della Città di Ronchamp. Altri progetti di arte pubblica si possono vedere in Taiwan all’Istituto dei Trasporti di Taipei, nel Museo delle Belle Arti di Kaohsiung e presso il Centro Culturale di Hsin Chu.
