Two spectacular stone staircases in the new Apple Store in Singapore designed by Foster Partners.
Even the “bitten apple”, the iconic logo of the brand that helped re-write rules of contemporary communication, yields to the seduction of natural stone. And it does so thanks to the combination of the rigorous corporate design identity of the company and Foster + Partners Studio, which also designed the very recent square-fountain-underground store in Milan and Apple Orchard Road, the brand’s “flagship” in Singapore. This is a striking interpretation of the new format developed by the English archistar’s studio starting from the flagship store opened in October 2016 in Regent Street in London, where the natural tones of Castagna stone appeared for the first time for walls and stairs. Stone material consequently joins the reference palette of new Apple stores, together with the white terrazzo floors, oak for wooden furnishings and bronze for accessories and fixtures.
